Reports

What every number in the numbers dashboard means, from visitors and sessions to bounce rate, sources, campaigns and click rate.

2 min read

The dashboard shows one Space and environment at a time, picked in the sidebar, over the last 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days. Every total is compared with the same range before it.

Overview

NumberWhat it is
VisitorsDistinct visitor ids with at least one event in the range.
SessionsRuns of events from one visitor with no gap over 30 minutes.
Page viewspage_view events.
Bounce rateOf the sessions with a page view, the share that had one page view and nothing else.
Average sessionThe time from a session's first event to its last.
EventsEvery event in the range.

Over time charts visitors, sessions or page views per hour (24 hours) or per day, in UTC, with the same data as a table under it.

Breakdowns

  • Top pages: page views and visitors per path.
  • Sources: the referrer's host; no referrer is "Direct or unknown".
  • Campaigns: visitors per UTM source, medium and campaign.
  • Countries, with a map, and devices, browsers and operating systems, as shares of the visitors.
  • Clicks: the most clicked tagged elements with their click rate.

Funnels

A funnel is a saved journey through events: two to ten event-and-scope steps, in order, and a conversion window. A visitor enters at the first time they fire the first step in the range; each next step has to arrive within the window of that first one. Each visitor counts once per range, and the same step cannot be used twice.

The funnel shows where visitors drop off, as a flow chart and a table of visitors and conversion rates per step, plus the same journey over time: how many entered, how many completed, and the conversion rate per bucket. The report is worked out when it is opened, so a saved funnel keeps tracking new events. Funnels are saved per Space and environment, like the rest of the dashboard.

Events

The Events page lists every event name and scope the environment received, most frequent first, with its count, visitors and when it was last seen. An Improve test's or flag's events carry its slug as their scope.

Who sees what

Every member of an Organization sees the numbers of the Spaces they may open, unless an admin kept them out of both Improve and Content. Signing in happens on www.obelism.studio, with the same account as Improve and Content.
